Right before we left for Europe in May a pipe in the wall carrying water away from our sink sprung a leak, soaking our downstairs neighbor’s bedroom. Literally the night before we left. Fortunately it had nothing to do with us and we weren’t needed during the repair work so by the time we got home it was taken care of.
Naturally, as we prepare to go to Toronto (while both of our workplaces have been very stressful and we get ready for classes to begin), our oven has decided to stop working. Kind of bad news when we planned to do a frozen pizza. And this one isn’t likely to be resolved by the time we’re home, although the landlord is already talking about just replacing it. To which we say, hooooray!! We could use the upgrade.
So perhaps despite this spectacular timing there is a silver lining. After all, I wouldn’t mind an oven that told me what temp it was or burners with more fine control than off, barely on, mostly on, all the way on.
