Some things I saw online today…
- It’s hard for me to figure out how a special committee looking at Negro League era baseball players could put 17 people into the Hall of Fame and not include Minnie Minoso. He simply deserves to be there. Thank you Phil Rogers for pointing that out.
- Various issues about the upcoming World Baseball Classic aside, Team USA’s hats are just plain ugly (not to mention pricey). Really. Ugly. (check out all the caps here. no wonder other countries actually have pride in their team.)
- I’ve yet to eat poutine because I’m afraid I’ll try a cheap-o version that sours me to what otherwise looks like God’s Gift To French Fries. Thank you Barrett in Chicago for elevating poutine to the status it so richly deserves. (2 notes here: 1. I might change my mind after eating poutine, and 2. I love this link not just for the poutine but for how to make fries at home and how to make mushroom gravy)
- I think that I think this is cool. People who have the ability to change the world, trying to do so. But it’s not clear to me that they are actually doing much (which is why I only think that I think it’s cool). But I hope they are, and I hope more people with their kind of means gets on-board and help make a difference in the world. I mean, would it be so hard for Tom Cruise to get up on Oprah’s couch and tell the whole world how much he loves the environment and how we have to save it? Not like he’d look any sillier than anything else he does, and clearly Tom Cruise standing on Oprah’s couch is major news….
