Hard to believe the holiday season is here… Hannuakah starts in 10 days or so, Christmas is a mere 20 days away! A lot has happened in the last 12 months, good and bad, but 2006 will always be marked by great memories and stories for me…

But in all the hustle and bustle of this month and season, a (brief) moment to enjoy rIAm’s family’s tree from last year…

Okay, moment over.

R.I.P. Addison Brown Line stop. As of 3am today the station was shut down for up to a year. This “temporary” inconvenience is in the name of progress.

Now it’ll be longer walks in the snow and cold. Maybe worst of all, we won’t be exiting so close to Trader Joe’s. And it’s going to be hard to remember to walk a different way!

November 2nd, 2004. A great day in American politics because the scene pictured above unfolded.

Well, more like it was a great day because Barack Obama was elected to the U.S. Senate, which allowed for the thrill of being in the front row for his victory speech. We even still have a few pieces of that confetti. It was a thrilling night. Even though the biggest election that night was depressing, this election, this party, made things feel better.

We had a great Thanksgiving weekend, including a lovely dinner at Ellen & David’s (roughly 30 people strong!) on Thursday. rIAm particularly liked this shot, and since my sister said I don’t post enough family photos, voila!
